Alert: Requested Element does not exist or may have been deleted

System alert The requested Element does not exist or may have been deleted. The identifier you provided is: ‘{identifier}’.Parameter name: ElementId.

Possible cause An element used in a flow is not in the tenant. If a flow builder inadvertently deletes an element (like Page or Step) that is used in a flow, the Boomi Flow platform shows the above alert.

(Please note, that while the Boomi Flow platform automatically detects element dependencies and generates alerts aimed at preventing builders from deleting elements used in a flow, 100% error detection may not always be possible.)

Solution

This is how we can continue:

  1. Click API in the Tools section.
  2. Copy-paste the URL api/draw/1/element/value in the Input Box. This shows a list of links.
  3. Click the matching URL from the list.
  4. Paste the following JSON in the Request editor.

This is what the screen will look like:
  5. In the id property, add the identifier you received in the error message. (Example: Say, you get the following error message: “The requested Element does not exist or may have been deleted. The identifier you provided is: ‘703f8fd3-8fed-4d4a-8aaf-5d76a0d95e07’.Parameter name: ElementId.” The identifier will be 703f8fd3-8fed-4d4a-8aaf-5d76a0d95e07. Remove the curly braces.)
  6. Click POST to save the JSON.

Retry the procedures that resulted in the error. Check your values to find the value that referenced the value that caused the error, and update it.

Still getting an error

Let us try some additional troubleshooting.

  1. Click API in the Tools section.
  2. Copy-paste the URL api/draw/1/element/type in the Input Box. This shows a list of links.
  3. Click the matching URL from the list.
  4. Paste the following JSON in the Request editor.

This is what the screen will look like:
  5. In the id property above, paste the identifier you received in the error message. (Example: Say, you get the following error message: “The requested Element does not exist or may have been deleted. The identifier you provided is: ‘703f8fd3-8fed-4d4a-8aaf-5d76a0d95e07’. Parameter name: ElementId.” The identifier will be 703f8fd3-8fed-4d4a-8aaf-5d76a0d95e07. Remove the curly braces.)
  6. Click POST to save the JSON.

Retry the procedures that resulted in the error. The error could have been caused by a deleted type referenced in an object or list value. Check your values to see if any of your values are of Type Dependency: Replaced, and update them.
