Configuring Google Apps email service

Google Apps for Work is a suite of email, storage, and collaboration tools offered by Google. If your organization uses Google Apps, you can integrate Gmail (the business email offered by Google Apps) with Boomi Flow, to send out emails to users from within your apps.

Required:

  • Boomi Flow credentials (If you do not have a Boomi Flow login, please click here to request one)
  • Gmail credentials
Note: IMAP needs to be enabled on the Google Apps account. To enable IMAP, sign in to Gmail, click the gear in the top right, select Settings, click Forwarding and POP/IMAP, select Enable IMAP, and click Save Changes. For more information on IMAP settings, see Gmail Help.

Adding the Gmail service:
  1. Select Services from the sidebar, and click New Service.
  2. Type Gmail service in the Name field.
  3. In The URL for the Service field, copy-paste https://services-staging.manywho.com/api/email/1 and click Continue.

    This opens a Service: Gmail screen with configuration options.
  4. Click Select or create a new Value in the Value option for Host.
  5. Click Create a new Value.
  6. In the Name field, type Gmail: Host.
  7. From the What kind of Value is this? drop-down menu, select String.
  8. In the Default Value field, copy-paste smtp.gmail.com

  9. Click Save.
  10. Click Select or create a new Value in the Value option for Port.
  11. Click Create a new Value.
  12. In the Name field, type Gmail: Port.
  13. From the What kind of Value is this? drop-down menu, select Number.
  14. In the Default Value field, type 587

  15. Click Save.
  16. Click Select or create a new Value in the Value option for Username.
  17. Click Create a new Value.
  18. In the Name field type Gmail: Username.
  19. From the What kind of Value is this? drop-down menu, select String.
  20. In the Default Value field, enter your Gmail ID. (For example: [email protected])
  21. Click Save.
  22. Click Select or create a new Value in the Value option for Password.
  23. Click Create a new Value.
  24. In the Name field type Gmail: Password.
  25. From the What kind of Value is this? drop-down menu, select Password.
  26. In the Default Value field, enter your Gmail password.
  27. Click Save.
  28. Click Select or create a new Value in the Value option for Transport.
  29. Click Create a new Value.
  30. In the Name field type Gmail: Transport.
  31. From the What kind of Value is this? drop-down menu, select String.
  32. In the Default Value field, type tls

  33. Click Save.
  34. Click Continue.

    Once the service is installed, you will see a confirmation screen:

The Gmail service is now configured and ready to be used.
